Overview
DevLens is a browser extension designed to help developers capture and report issues. We are committed to
protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Data Collection
What we collect when you use "Snap Issue":
- Screenshots of the current tab
- Console logs from the browser
- Page URL and title
What we DON'T collect:
- Personal information (name, email, etc.)
- Passwords or sensitive form data
- Browsing history
- Data from pages you don't explicitly capture
Data Storage
- All captured data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API
- Your Gemini API key is stored locally in localStorage
- License keys are synced via Chrome's sync storage (encrypted by Google)
- We do not have servers that store your data
Third-Party Services
Google Gemini AI: When you use the AI analysis feature, the following data is sent to
Google's Gemini API:
- The captured screenshot
- Console log summary
- Page URL and title
This data is processed according to Google's
Privacy Policy.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties.
Your Rights
- Delete all stored data by clicking "Start New Scan" or clearing browser data
- Uninstall the extension at any time to remove all local data
- Use your own Gemini API key (no data passes through our servers)
